Canadian aerospace manufacturer Bombardier has announced it has sold 10 Challenger jets for $259m (£157m) to an anonymous buyer.
The ten Challenger 350 business jets are part of Bombardier's new line of C-series jets introduced in 2013.This was the second order in a week for the C-series jets, which typically hold between 100-150 passengers.
The previous order, worth a little over $280m, was for five Challenger 300s and five Challenger 605 jets. Bombardier hopes to compete in the small-body jet arena with aerospace giants Boeing and Airbus when its jets take flight commercially in 2014.
The firm has said its C-series jets use 20% less fuel than Boeing's 737 or Airbus's A320, and that they cost around 15% less to operate. The market for narrow-bodied jets is expected to grow to $20 trillion (£12.8tn) over the next 20 years.
