The Great Place to Work Institute defines a great place to work as one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with. The Institute doesn't tally employee benefits or give companies points for flexibility or perks.
To figure out which places qualify as 'best,' the Great Place to Work Institute surveys employees, using dozens of questions designed to measure the trust, credibility and respect the company garners among employees.
The multinational version of the list, below, is based on the companies' standings in standalone national rankings.
