Honda aims to sell 36,000 Dream Neo bikes in Rajasthan in FY'14

JAIPUR: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) aims to sell 36,000 units of its 100cc bike Dream Neo, which was launched here today, in Rajasthan this fiscal.


In first quarter of this financial year, the industrial growth of two wheeler (bike) was 6 per cent in Rajasthan, and Honda had recorded a growth of 36 per cent by selling 30,000 units of other bike models in urban and semi-urban cities of the state in the stipulated quarter, Vikram Singh, its Zonal Head-Rajasthan told reporters here today.

Sharad Pradhan, company's Regional Sales Head-North, said HMSI achieved record breaking sales of 27.54 lakh units and became the second largest two-wheeler company in the country, with a significant 31 per cent growth in FY 2012-13.

Overall, in the current fiscal, HMSI aims to sell 39.3 lakh units and register a phenomenal 43 per cent growth over previous year, Pradhan said while unveiling the new bike.

Honda has inaugurated its third plant of 12 lakh unit production capacity at Narsapuram (Karnataka) on May last, and production commenced in June this year, he said. Company's overall cumulative production capacity from its third plant is 40 lakh units annualy, he added.

Additionally 6 lakh unit capacity expansion announced at third plant will take production capacity to 46 lakh units by the end of this financial year, Pradhan said.

New bike with fuel efficiency of 74 kmpl would cost Rs 44,410, ex-showroom in Jaipur, Singh said.
