Rolls-Royce is to close its manufacturing plant in Portsmouth.
The factory, where electrical systems for Royal Navy vessels are made, is expected to shut at the end of 2014.
The company said 33 posts would go at the site in Cosham, and a further 30 staff will be offered a transfer to Bristol. It said challenging market conditions in the defence sector meant there had been limited opportunities to bring in new work.
'Bitter blow'
John Ferrett, from the Prospect union, said: "This is yet more devastating news for workers in the area and for the local economy.
"The decision to close the Cosham factory is a bitter blow, not least given the huge loss of jobs that is also taking place as a result of the shipbuilding closure."
A Rolls-Royce spokesperson said: "It is never an easy decision to propose reductions in our workforce, but it is a sign of the increasingly competitive market in which we operate that such actions are necessary."
In November, BAE Systems announced the end shipbuilding at Portsmouth with the loss of 940 staff and 170 agency posts.
